POSTPONED: CHB Public Lecture: Alexander McCall Smith *
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINITELY.
Alexander McCall Smith is one of the world’s most prolific and best-loved authors. His No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series has sold over twenty million copies in the English language alone, and his books have been translated into more than forty languages. Whether writing for adults or children, about Botswana, Edinburgh or Sweden, he brings his characters to life with warmth and wit. In 2007 he received a CBE for services to literature and in 2011 was honoured by the President of Botswana for services through literature to the country.
Alexander McCall Smith joins Tom Mole, Director of the Centre for the History of the Book, to talk about the many forms his writing has taken, and his enduring fascination with books and reading.
The event is free and open to all, but booking is required through Eventbrite
